College Student Volunteers
We consider you a college student volunteer if your purpose for volunteering is education-related, such as requirements for program entrance or other needs.
Why volunteer?
Volunteering gives college students hands-on experience that can be a valuable learning opportunity.
As a college student volunteer, you will:
- Provide assistance as a part of the healthcare team
- Make contacts – and new friends
- Develop a great sense of purpose and appreciation of your own life
References are also provided upon request.
What are the guidelines for college student volunteers?
College student volunteers must be at least 16 years old at the time of application.
If you are required by your program of study to do an internship, please contact Ballad Health organizational development for more information and further instructions.
Note: We also have a Junior Volunteer program available for 14–16 year olds.
How much time do student volunteers donate?
College student volunteers are required to commit to and complete a minimum of 30 hours over the course of a semester or within a six-month time period in order to receive verification of their service hours.
