Phil Jones, MD
Allergist, pulmonologist
Allergy Asthma & Sinus Center
Ask allergist Dr. Phil Jones why he practices in East Tennessee, and he’ll tell you that’s easy to answer, then tick off all the reasons why.
“East Tennessee is home for me. My family is here – my mom and dad, my brother. My grandfather moved here years ago. It’s an underserved area where we are needed. I have the best patients in the world.”
In fact, running into his patients while he’s out and about is one of the greatest rewards of practicing medicine here, he says.
“I’ll run into someone at the restaurant or grocery store and they say, ‘Do you remember me?’” he says. “A lot of times I don’t because I see so many people, but we’ll stand there and talk and they’ll say, ‘You took care of my mom. Thank you for that.’ At the end of the day, this is as good as it gets!”
Helping people – that’s the best part of being a physician, says Dr. Jones. “Though it sounds cliché, it’s really the most rewarding part of what I do. We live in an area where there are lots of allergies and I have a lot of opportunities to help make a difference in people’s lives.”
