Ballad Health issues statement regarding TennCare transformation

Ballad Health released the following statement on news that the United States Department of Health and Human Services has approved Tennessee's request for transformation of its TennCare program:

"Ballad Health applauds Gov. Bill Lee and leaders of TennCare for their successful negotiation of the federal waiver directed by the Tennessee legislature. This waiver provides unprecedented flexibility to the state in developing models of care for Tennessee's lower-income population, while providing long-term savings to taxpayers. These models include the potential to decrease reliance on emergency room care and inpatient hospital services and to incentivize the investment into technology and more modern approaches to caring for this very vulnerable population.

“Ballad Health looks forward to working with TennCare to develop models of care that improve outcomes and save taxpayers their hard-earned dollars."
