Eddie Neely

Eddie Neely is a seasoned business professional with more than 40 years of experience in finance and accounting. He retired from Alpha Natural Resources in November 2012 after 10 years of service as Executive Vice President, having held other senior leadership positions at the company, including chief accounting officer, chief financial officer and chief risk officer.

Neely began his career at Dent K. Burke and Associates, a Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm in Bristol, Va. and worked in public accounting for several years. Over his career, Neely served in leadership roles at The Brink’s Company, served as controller for an assisted living facility and served as Chief Financial Officer for local family-owned supermarket chain, K-VA-T, the parent company of Food City grocery stores.

In addition to his business career, Neely is an active member of his local community. He is a member of the Board of Directors of ARC Group Worldwide, Inc. (ARCW), a global advanced manufacturer. Neely served on the Finance and Retirement Committees for the Board of Ballad Health and is Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Alpha Natural Resources Non-Union Retirees VEBA Trust. He has also volunteered with Feeding America and Highlands Fellowship Church in Abingdon.

Neely holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from East Tennessee State University. He is a CPA and served in the US Army.
