Pull on your boots, tie up your bowtie and get ready for an evening of fun and philanthropy as Ballad Health Foundation’s annual Boots and Bowties event is back on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, located at 1 Partnership Circle in Abingdon, Virginia.
This year’s event will benefit the Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Center (AHCDC), a vital resource providing quality dental care for underserved individuals in Southwest Virginia. AHCDC also serves as a training site for dental school graduates completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency, supported by Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Attendees will enjoy a delicious dinner from Delta Blues BBQ, live entertainment by the Gunslinger Band and both live and silent auctions – all while dressed in their best boots, bowties and dress casual attire.
“We are incredibly thankful for the community’s support through events like Boots and Bowties,” said Dr. Scott Miller, director of the Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Center. “The funds raised will directly benefit patients who have little to no access to dental care and help train the next generation of compassionate dental providers serving our region.”
Ballad Health Foundation is proud to champion programs like AHCDC that improve access to care and support healthier lives throughout the Appalachian Highlands.
“Our goal is to invest in the health and well-being of our communities, and AHCDC is making a real difference for people in need,” said Jack Simpson, president of Ballad Health Foundation. “Boots and Bowties is a great way to bring people together for a fun evening that makes a lasting impact.”
