Ballad Health Foundation to host Wine Women & Shoes event to support breast cancer screening programs

A day of wine tasting, designer shopping, a glamorous fashion show and more awaits attendees of Ballad Health Foundation’s Wine Women & Shoes event, presented by Paragon Anesthesia, on Saturday, April 18.

Held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Lodge and Pavilion at The Olde Farm in Bristol, Virginia, the annual fundraising event benefits Ballad Health’s breast cancer screening programs and women’s health services by expanding its ability to provide 3D mammograms, breast MRI scans, BRCA1 and BRCA2 genetic analyses and genetic panels to people who need them.

“Seeing women unite to offer meaningful support to their peers is what makes Wine Women & Shoes such an exceptional event,” said Jack Simpson, president of Ballad Health Foundation. “We’re empowering women to take that crucial first step in cancer prevention by easing the financial obstacles to potentially lifesaving screenings.

“This event provides an opportunity for those in need to obtain the testing necessary for early detection, when treatment, recovery and outcomes are far more favorable.”

The importance of screening and intervention will take center stage during the event’s signature fashion show, which features breast cancer survivors from throughout the Appalachian Highlands.

Exclusive shopping and entertainment for a cause

Wine Women & Shoes will offer opportunities for exclusive shopping and an afternoon of entertainment.

All participants will receive a complimentary photo and a swag bag filled with promotional items and gift certificates to take home. Wine tasting and heavy appetizers will be available throughout the afternoon.

Wine Women & Shoes raises funds through ticket sales, event sponsorships, auctions, raffles and assistance from a special group of local men called Shoe Guys. These volunteers are on hand during the event to pour wine, sell raffle tickets and help facilitate women’s shopping experiences. They’re also competing to receive the most donations in their names before the event, with the winner crowned as the Wine Women & Shoes King of Sole.

VIP tickets are available for $125 a person and $240 for Fabulous Sisters (two tickets). Every guest will receive a swag bag. A reserved VIP table (six tickets), which includes exclusive swag bags, is also available for $1,200.
