With rising costs of insurance premiums, larger co-pays and higher deductibles, Ballad Health recognizes that many of our patients will not be able to fully satisfy their financial obligations at the time services are rendered.
We offer a variety of options to help patients meet their hospital out-of-pocket expenses.
These options are summarized below, and we have staff on-site and in our Customer Service Department who can assist you with selecting the best option.
We’re making it easier and faster to manage your medical bills with paperless statements.
With Ballad Health, you’re automatically enrolled in paperless billing, which means you can view and pay your statements securely online – anytime, from any device.
Paperless billing gives you more control and convenience:
To make sure you receive notifications when a new statement is ready, please take a moment to confirm your email address and mobile phone number are up to date in MyChart or at check-in at your next appointment.
You’re always in control. If you prefer to continue paper bills, you can opt out of paperless statements anytime in MyChart or by calling our financial services team at (888) 288-5174 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For your protection, third and fourth (final) billing notices will always be mailed, even if you're enrolled in paperless billing.
No. You are automatically enrolled, but you can opt out at any time if you prefer to keep receiving paper bills.
Unless you opt out, you will automatically be enrolled to only receive paperless statements. However, final notices before collections will always be mailed for your protection.
You can opt out of paperless billing by logging into your MyChart, navigating to Communication Preferences and selecting Paper Statements.
You can also call our financial services team at (888) 288-5174 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
To be sure you receive notifications about new statements, confirm your email address and mobile phone number are accurate in your MyChart account or in-person at your next appointment.
You can view and pay your bill securely through MyChart from any computer, tablet or smartphone.
You’ll need to either add an email address or mobile phone number to your MyChart account or call our financial services team to make sure you receive paper statements moving forward. If you do not have an email address or smartphone, all invoices will be sent via US Mail.
Paperless billing will begin in February 2026. Please make sure your contact details are up to date before then to be sure you receive notifications about any new statements.
Paperless billing helps reduce mail delays, improves patient access to statements and allows you to manage bills more easily – while still offering paper options for those who prefer them.
