Hand therapy

Hand therapists specialize in treating conditions that affect the upper extremities (the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder).

These conditions include carpal tunnel syndrome, wrist and finger fractures, arthritis, tendonitis, contractures*, burns and hand injuries (including tendon and nerve repairs, as well as amputations).

We provide a wide range of hand therapy options, such as:

  • Custom splinting
  • Desensitization
  • Muscle strengthening
  • Joint and soft tissue mobilization

Our hand therapy team will help you regain mobility and ease pain.

*A contracture is a condition that causes the shortening and hardening of muscles, tendons and other tissues. Contractures often lead to rigid, deformed joints.

Sports injuries

Personalized rehabilitation programs focus on treating sports injuries, such as sprains, strains and pulls.

We create a program to help speed your recovery and conditioning for a quick return to the sport you love, whether you’re a young athlete or a weekend warrior.

Vestibular rehabilitation

Balance problems, dizziness, vertigo, lightheadedness, spinning or unsteadiness with quick turns or position changes – these can all be signs of an inner ear problem or balance dysfunction.

Our vestibular and balance programs are designed to assess fall risks and plan treatments, exercises and home modifications to improve your symptoms and decrease your risks.

Wound care support

Ballad Health rehabilitation clinics support patients from Ballad Health’s wound care centers by providing physical and/or occupational therapy services.

We provide education related to safety with walking, reducing the risk of falling, balance re-training and increasing independence with self-care activities and custom orthotic fabrication.

We take referrals from all physicians – including yours.
