The primary focus of nephrology is the study of diseases affecting the kidneys. This area of medicine is essential because proper kidney function is absolutely vital to maintaining your body’s fluids. The kidney’s most important roles are to filter waste from blood and to regulate the balance of electrolytes. 

Two of the most common diseases affecting the kidneys of people in our region are diabetes and high blood pressure. While prevention through diet and exercise is always recommended, our experienced physicians are here to help.
