New hospital visitation restrictions
Effective Saturday, March 21, Ballad Health will not allow visitors in its inpatient hospital units, long-term care facilities or behavioral health centers.
These measures are to help contain coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Limited exceptions to these restrictions may apply to:
- Birthing centers
- Pediatric departments
- Emergency departments
- End-of-life and other extraordinary long-term care situations

Greeneville Community Hospital Senior Care is a 16-bed acute inpatient unit dedicated to serving adults age 55 and older.
Senior care provides stabilization and short-term, inpatient care when sudden life changes (such as death of a loved one) or other stressors trigger symptoms that require acute treatment.
Conditions we treat
Psychiatric disorders or stressors we commonly treat:
- Behavioral disturbances
- Bipolar disorder
- Dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease
- Grief and loss issues
- Memory loss
- Panic disorder
Our senior care team includes:
- Activity associates
- Nursing associates
- Nurse practitioner
Time for family and friends
Visiting with friends and family is an important part of treatment at senior care.
All visitors are asked to sign in and out and follow visiting hours as much as possible. Visitors are also encouraged to schedule their time so as not to conflict with any recommended group activities, which are often an important part of our therapeutic program.
Visiting hours are:
- Monday through Friday – 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m.
- Weekends and holidays – 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Admissions available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Flowers and other items brought in
Patients often enjoy receiving flowers, but please be sure to have them delivered in plastic vases or baskets. All items brought in for patients must be checked at the nurse’s station.
