Expanding our reach into Virginia

In 2026, with the help of generous philanthropic partners and state grant funding, Strong Futures plans to open a new location in Southwest Virginia. This new site will be located at the former Mountain View Regional Hospital in Norton, Virginia.

The expanded location will allow Strong Futures to offer more services, including multiple levels of residential care. These services will follow the guidelines set by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Build a brighter tomorrow

Established in 2021, Strong Futures opened their doors in Greeneville, Tennessee. The program actively serves women by surrounding them with steady care and assistance, contributing to increased maternal health, better birthing outcomes, restored confidence and a strong network to support a brighter future.

Families across Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia face unique substance use challenges, financial instability and complex family dynamics. By 2026, Strong Futures in Tennessee had supported more than 680 families, enabling mothers to spend a combined 13,363 days—or about 36 years—in treatment and recovery. This allows the mother to focus on healing and positive change, instead of incarceration and separation from their children.

Strong Futures is expanding to Southwest Virginia in 2026 to ensure families in need can access recovery support closer to home.
