What is Neurosurgery?

Neurosurgery is a branch of medicine that deals with the surgical treatment of problems affecting the brain, spine, peripheral nerves and the arteries of the neck. Neurosurgeons train an average of six to seven years after finishing medical school.

A neurosurgeon provides the operative and non-operative management (i.e. prevention, diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, critical care and rehabilitation) of neurological disorders. Because neurosurgeons have extensive training in the diagnosis of all neurological disease, emergency room doctors, neurologists, internists, family practitioners and osteopaths often call upon them for consultations. Frequently patients are sent to neurosurgeons for consultation and to help the referring physician decide if an operation in needed.

Our neurosurgery team works together to determine the surgical option that is best for you.  We perform proven, contemporary treatments using minimally invasive techniques to ensure our patients a rapid recovery.

We participate with most insurance providers, but it will be the family's responsibility to check with their insurance to verify coverage.  All questions regarding billing for services should be made to our office.
