Physician Profile

I wanted to become a doctor because I have always been interested in the science of the human body. Multiple teachers influenced my interest in medicine throughout my training, but especially my biology teacher, Mr. James Phillips. As a physician, I have most enjoyed making diagnoses that save a life or reduce or prevent morbidity. My personal philosophy for treating patients is primacy of patient care always, and the best way I have ever found to make a diagnosis in internal medicine is to listen to what my patient is saying. I am originally from Morristown and went to medical school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. I returned to this area for a practice opportunity and enjoy the outdoor activities offered here, such as hiking and camping with my family. My wife, Connie, and I have three grown children and a grandson, Tucker.
