Physical therapy and much more

Alisia Askew

Alisia Askew, a physical therapist at Greeneville Community Hospital East (formerly known as Laughlin Memorial), is always looking for a way to make things better for her patients as they recover from injuries or surgery.

She is known for doing everything in her power each day to help people at the hospital, whether it is her fellow team members or her patients and their families. She goes out of her way to ask others how their day is going and is quick to give a pep talk when someone needs encouragement things are going to be okay.

Alisia comes in early and stays late in order to meet her patients’ needs. She takes the time to get to know each individual and genuinely cares about their well-being and quality of life. Alisia is always looking for an opportunity to show her patients she cares about them personally. She inspires her patients to work hard in therapy and recover physically, and pediatric patients are rewarded with stickers or treats from her after working hard in therapy.

She also gives back to the community by volunteering with the local food bank drive and attends, as a chaperone, the annual Night to Shine, a prom-themed event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation that celebrates teens with special needs. She frequently mentors student volunteers in the department and is a natural teacher for team members and patients.

Alisia provides an example to fellow team members of a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and thoughtfulness. She frequently asks team members about their health concerns and requests prayer from the team for those who are struggling. Alisia is often willing to work extra hours to help when the clinic is busy.
