Surgical Services – Russell County Hospital

Russell County Hospital features one of Southwest Virginia’s most modern surgical facilities. The hospital offers newly renovated operating and recovery suites, as well as an endoscopy room.

In addition to the traditional “open” surgical techniques, our surgeons offer laser and laparoscopic procedures. These technologies allow surgeons to operate through very small incisions, which greatly reduces recovery time and allows patients to return to normal activities more quickly.

Outpatient surgery

Our modern outpatient surgery center is used extensively by patients whose surgeries don’t require an overnight stay.

The surgery center is located on the right side of the hospital and has its own entrance.

General surgery

We provide comprehensive management of most general surgery conditions. This includes consultation, preoperative, operative and postoperative care.

Our surgeons are also trained in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic surgery) and endoscopy – techniques using telescopic instruments to examine or treat internal organs.

Orthopedic surgery

We offer an orthopedic clinic at the hospital.

Orthopedists specialize in diagnosing and treating most musculoskeletal conditions, from sports injuries to total joint replacement.

Our providers also treat a variety of other conditions including fractures, ligament and tendon injuries.
