Ballad Health has named Tony Dotson its new vice president of oncology services. Dotson comes to the organization from Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, where he has served as assistant vice president of oncology the last three years.

Dotson will coordinate the delivery of oncology services throughout Ballad Health. His responsibilities include working with physicians and others to ensure the health system is delivering cancer care that meets the highest quality standards and achieves high value, while meeting the professional needs of physicians and providing an excellent experience for patients and families.

“We’re thrilled to have someone with Tony’s knowledge and experience overseeing our oncology service line,” said Sean McMurray, Ballad Health’s VP for market operations and service line integration and development. “Because he has lived and worked in East Tennessee for many years, Tony is deeply committed to helping the people of our region as they face their personal battles with cancer.”

Dotson has served at Erlanger for the last six years in roles overseeing radiation, medical and gynecological oncology services and has nearly 25 years of experience in healthcare management and administration. He earned a Masters of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

“I’m excited about this opportunity to help develop a comprehensive cancer program at Ballad Health that will best serve the patients of the region,” Dotson said. “My wife and I are really looking forward to moving our family to the Tri-Cities area, as well.”
Dotson will begin his new role on Nov. 25.
