Public invited to see Santa Claus Dec. 7 during free Morning Miracle Express event

For those wanting to meet jolly old Saint Nick this holiday season, you are in luck.

Ballad Health is hosting a free event called the Morning Miracle Express on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon at the MeadowView Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, and Santa Claus will be there.

“All children are miracles in their own ways, and the Morning Miracle Express is just one way we hope to bring a smile to each child who attends this holiday season,” said Tara Chadwell, director of the Ballad Health Children’s Resource Center.

“This is a brand-new event, and while we’re making sure it will be packed full of fun activities for the children to enjoy, we also want it to be educational for both the children and their families.”

The event will feature five Christmas-themed, hands-on activity stations that focus on healthy eating, physical activity, literacy, resiliency and mentoring and crafts.

“While visiting these stations, children will be engaged in activities that are both enjoyable and educational. Each station will be holiday-themed, but we ultimately hope these activities will spark the children’s imagination and carry into their day-to-day lives,” Chadwell said.

“Ballad Health is committed to enhancing the health of our region, and it starts with events like these where children can learn about fun ways to live a healthy and active lifestyle.”

A photographer will also be on hand so families can have their picture taken and receive a 5-by-7-inch print. Santa Claus will be in the literacy station, where family members can take their own photos.

“We invite everyone to join us for a day of fun, family-friendly education, activities, snacks, and of course, a visit from Santa Claus himself,” Chadwell said.
