Willie Anderson, MD, has joined Ballad Health Medical Associates, providing high-quality, compassionate neurology care to the region’s youngest patients.

A native of Kentucky, Dr. Anderson chose a pediatric specialty while in medical school. Following a pediatric residency and pediatric neurology fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Dr. Anderson earned board certifications by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology.

“While I was in medical school, I realized I needed to be an expert in one particular specialty, and I chose pediatric neurology,” Dr. Anderson said. “I have a true heart for children’s healthcare, and I believe in order to help children, you have to listen to them and their families and build trust.”

Dr. Anderson treats a wide range of nervous system issues in the brain, spine, nerves and muscles. His services include behavioral disorders, developmental disorders, headaches, hydrocephalus, intellectual disabilities, seizure disorders, medical aspects of head injuries and brain tumors, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and nerve muscle disorders.

As part of Ballad Health, Dr. Anderson also provides seamless access to the system’s other services, providers, specialists and facilities, including Niswonger Children’s Hospital.

Ballad Health Medical Associates Pediatric Neurology is located at 408 N. State of Franklin Road, Suite 31C, in Johnson City.
