Ballad Health to hold drive-thru job fairs in Abingdon

Ballad Health is hosting a hiring fair that will give job seekers the opportunity to apply, interview and be hired – all without leaving their vehicles.

The event will take place at Johnston Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Oct. 14, from noon-4 p.m., specifically seeking to fill positions in nursing, nursing support and various technician roles, but applications will be accepted for all positions.

“There are countless compassionate, dedicated people in the Appalachian Highlands who want to make a difference in people’s lives, so we we’re hoping our event makes it convenient and safe for them to find fulfilling work,” said Linda Shepherd, chief nursing officer at Johnston Memorial. “We’re really looking forward to adding some new faces to our teams, so we can work together to provide the best care possible.”

Available positions at Johnston Memorial include registered nurses, nurse aides, phlebotomists, medical lab technicians, ultrasound technicians and CT technicians. The health system is also offering a sign-on bonus for certain nursing positions at Johnston Memorial, as well as at Ballad Health’s other largest hospitals – Bristol Regional Medical Center, Holston Valley Medical Center and Johnson City Medical Center. To be eligible for a bonus, applicants must be new hires who haven’t been employed by Ballad Health in the last six months. The bonus comes with a 30-month commitment agreement with Ballad Health.

Applicants should bring their resume and come prepared for an interview on the spot. Both full- and part-time positions are available. Applicants should wear a mask to the event.

Ballad Health offers competitive pay and benefits to support all team members serving the Appalachian Highlands. The Ballad Health benefits package includes medical, dental and vision insurance, prescription drug coverage, short-term and long-term disability, a health savings account, a retirement plan, counseling and a flexible spending account.

Ballad Health team members also enjoy voluntary benefits including critical illness, accident, disability and pet insurance plans in addition to group discounts at many local, regional and national retailers.

Additionally, Ensemble Health Partners, a leading innovator in revenue cycle management, will also conduct interviews at the drive-thru event. Ensemble joined the region in 2020 through a strategic revenue cycle partnership with Ballad Health.

Ensemble is actively hiring new associates in the Appalachian Highlands and is seeking individuals with customer service backgrounds and a passion for redefining the possible in healthcare.

Ensemble offers competitive pay and benefits, including flex and compressed schedules, remote work opportunities, tuition reimbursement, paid time off and employer-paid disability programs, along with a quarterly incentive plan.
