E-Visits with MyChart

An E-Visit is an appointment with your Ballad Health primary care provider through MyChart for Ballad Health. It is a convenient, affordable and secure way to access care for 18 common, non-urgent medical issues.

Unlike a traditional doctor’s appointment, E-Visits take place entirely online through MyChart’s secure messaging features.

Patients must have an established relationship with the provider to be able to submit an E-Visit. This means you must have seen your primary care provider within the last 365 days or have an upcoming appointment within the next 180 days.

How do E-Visits work?

  1. Log on to your MyChart account, click the “Visits” tab and click “Request an E-Visit” to complete a symptom questionnaire.
  2. Pay $30 by credit card or through your Health Savings Account (HSA).
  3. Receive your doctor’s instructions and prescriptions (if needed) through MyChart’s secure messaging the same day, if submitted by 3 p.m.

*Please note: Prescriptions for controlled substances, such as narcotics, require you to be examined and treated in-person at your primary care provider’s office. Controlled substances will not be prescribed during E-Visits.
