O-Negative Blood Donors

What if you could leap tall buildings in a single bound? Fly to rescue small kittens from the treetops? Be the person who saves the day?

Better yet, what if you could be part of a special team with the power to save lives?

If you have O negative (O-) blood type, you actually do have what it takes to save lives when many others can’t.

What makes O-negative blood special?

In an emergency, seconds matter. And for many patients who need blood to survive, there often isn’t time to determine their blood types. Lifesaving blood needs to be on hand and ready to use.

That’s where O-negative blood – the universal blood type – comes in.

Because it can be transfused to patients of any blood type, O negative is the only blood type that can be immediately and safely administered in an emergency.

How common is O-negative blood?

Only six percent of people in the world have O-negative blood, and that makes O-negative donors unique. It makes them superheroes.

Why become an O-negative club member?

Being a member – uh, superhero – includes some perks, like exclusive O-Negative Club T-shirts and other club swag occasionally.

But let’s face it: no perk is as rewarding as knowing you’re part of something bigger than yourself.

Don’t know your blood type?

If you aren’t sure, contact Marsh Regional Blood Center to see if you’ve got the right stuff.

And of course, there’s always a need for other blood types. So don’t think for a second we can’t use other blood types.

Do you have what it takes to bring out the superhero inside?

If you have type O-negative blood – join Marsh Regional’s O-Negative Club today, and begin making a difference in the lives of people right here in our community.

By giving at least three times a year or simply donating once more each year if you already give, you can help ensure critical patients receive the blood they need when they need it.

O-negative donors: Come to the rescue and join the club.
