By donating to the Ballad Health Foundation, you are helping local patients and families in need.
We're honored to accept all contributions to help us improve the health and wellness of the Appalachian Highlands.
There are a variety of ways to support our organization.
Giving back
Mailed donations
Donations in the form of a check or credit card payment may be mailed to the Ballad Health Foundation at the following address:

Donating by phone
You can call us at (423) 302-3131 to make your gift by credit card or speak with someone about a donation.
Our staff can assist you during regular business hours, and you may leave a message at any time.
Honorary and memorial donations
Any gift may be made in honor or memory of a special person or event, such as an anniversary or birthday. These thoughtful gifts provide a way to express sentiments in a meaningful way while helping provide quality healthcare for local patients.
You can make these donations online, by mail or by phone.
When making an honorary or memorial gift, please indicate the name of the person you wish to honor or memorialize and the special event, if applicable. We will send notification of your gift if you include the person's name or address. Your gift amount will not be disclosed.
Obituaries
We can help you include memorial gift information in the obituaries of your loved ones.
Some sample sentences include:
- The family requests that memorial gifts be made to Ballad Health Foundation (Hospice Care, Heart Care, Niswonger Children's Hospital, hospital name or other area), 1019 W. Oakland Ave., Suite 2, Johnson City, TN 37604 or online.
- Gifts in memory of (loved one's name) can be made to Ballad Health's hospice program, 1019 W. Oakland Ave., Suite 2, Johnson City, TN 37604 or online.
Planned giving, stocks and real estate
Planned giving provides opportunities to support the Ballad Health Foundation in your overall financial and estate plans, with a commitment made in the present that defers benefits until a future date.
The Ballad Health Foundation is honored to accept non-cash donations, including stock and real estate.
Gifts of appreciated property can also assist in avoiding capital gains taxation on stocks or other property that has grown in value. These gifts can be made through a transfer of ownership prior to sale, and we can assist in arranging a broker-to-broker transfer.

Matching donations
Many employers have matching donation programs that multiply non-profit donations.
If your gift is eligible for a matching donation, please note that information with your gift or contact us for more details.
Using your donation
Your donation will always be utilized for the facility or purpose you indicate when you contribute.
If you don't choose a specific purpose for your donation, we'll make sure it goes to the facility or individuals who need it most.
We encourage you to learn more about what we support so that you can donate to your favorite cause.
Event-related transactions are subject to reductions for accounting purposes.
Gift receipts
Upon receiving your donation, we will send you:
- A confirmation letter
- Gift amount information
- An annual statement for income tax preparation
